Unable to connect to WiFi or update firmware on Dash cam


Hello I have a VA-VD005, and It won’t connect to the WiFi. I tried using the reset button and no luck. I decided to try a firmware update, but can’t find VD005 on the site, so I tried the file for 004 and no luck.

Hi, @GeedsGarage Thank you for notifying us about the issue. We will look into this immediately. Please note that this model is already a phased-out unit. We will try to provide you with T.S steps to try and fix this issue.

Troubleshooting dashcam:

  1. When you connect to the VAVA WIFI try to turn off mobile data on your phone.
  2. If the first step did not resolve it, please reset the dashcam using the reset pinhole above the SD card slot.
  3. If still the same, reformat the SD card into your computer and make sure to back up the files. The format is either NTFS or exFAT.
  4. Make sure to check for updates on the dashcam and check if you are now able to connect to the WIFI and access the app
  5. Uninstall and Reinstall the VAVA app.
