I recently bought an 8 in 1 USB-C dongle for use on my Asus C302A chromebook. The unit looks nice and is well built.
Both SD card slots work fine, but the USB 3 ports are not working. I plug in the dongle to my USB-C port on the chromebook, and insert a USB stick. The stick is not detected, no matter which port I use. Using a dongle from a different manufacturer, the stick is detected properly on all USB 3 ports.
Looking at the manual it ambiguously describes that a driver may be needed. I’m wondering how this works on a chromebook, if at all. I’ve not yet tested the HDMI, ethernet, or PD ports.
Anyone else have this problem? And if so, was it fixable, or just a bad unit? Or does this dongle just not work on chromebooks?
TIA
